Kindness in the Cold Kits
HELP US SUPPORT 100 NEIGHBORS THIS WINTER
As temperatures drop, too many of our unhoused neighbors are facing the cold without the basic items they need to stay safe.
Before the end of SNAPback Seacoast, we’re launching the Kindness in the Cold Kit Initiative to help 100 people make it through the harshest months with warmth, dignity, and protection.
Each kit includes life-saving essentials recommended by outreach workers and those with lived experience:
Personal heater with hose assembly
Battery pack and electric blanket
Ultra cold sleeping bag and mylar emergency blanket
Long underwear and skipants
Wool socks, hat and gloves
Soft cooler for water and food
First aid kit
Headlamp
Hand warmers
Medicated chapstick
Body wipes
A hand-written card from a Seacoast elementary school student to let each neighbor know they’re not alone and that we care about them
These are not comfort items.
These are survival items.
Each complete kit costs approximately $250 and it will take all of us to get 100 kits ready for our neighbors who need them most.
If you’ve been wanting to help in a direct, immediate way, this is your moment.
Sponsor an item or a whole kit, get a giving circle together and create a goal towards fulfilling one portion, donate toward the cost, or share the initiative with someone who cares. This is collective community giving.
Let’s show what community looks like when we refuse to let anyone face the cold alone.
Together, we can do this.
